Auction description:
Monterey Sports & Classic Car Auction
17 - 18 August 2007
Lot 552
1994 Jaguar XJ 220
Sold for $220,000
Chassis no. SAJJEAEX8AX220651
With less than 700 original miles, this XJ220 is an exceptional example of Jaguar's ultimate supercar. Its low, sleek, and surprisingly large presence is breathtaking and tremendously inviting. The body has been sculpted to the highest standards of aerodynamic design and, despite being a product of the early 1990s, is clearly still capable of reaching Ferrari Enzo-type speeds. Every component, front to back, is original on this car and in absolutely excellent condition. Its placid Le Mans Blue paint is a rather deceptive visage for the raw power that lurks underneath the rear glass.
