XJ220-N. TWR chassis 003. 1 of 3 cars built by TWR for the 1993 Italian GT series.
Owner: drsolly
Surgeon and multiple business owner, now retired. Collected and raced Ferraris for past 20 years, owned an XJ-6 and a Series II E-type as well as other unusual/collectible cars. Sold off the Italian cars, and at the behest of a friend and exotic car dealer, decided to purchase an XJ220-N sometimes called an XJ220-GT, as 3 of them were prepared by TWR for Italian GT racing in 1993, with 2 white cars, one in Martini livery and a backup which was never raced in gray. I bought the gray car with 400 miles on it. Updated August 17th, 2019. Not legal proof of ownership. |

There is something very odd about this TWR data plate. there is no known factory evidence of any 220-N of any sort. I urge anyone considering the purchase of this car to do their due diligence.

XJ220-N. Sometimes called XJ220GT TWR chassis 003. One of 3 cars built by TWR for Italian GT racing. Race interior, external power cutoff, fire suppression system, hood pins, exterior engine cover release, Racaro carbon/Kevlar racing seats. lighter weight and higher horsepower. 400 miles. Sister to the Martini car that ran in GT competition.

There has been a lot of confusion over the XJ220-N cars. There is absolute factory evidence of 3 "N" competition cars being built in 1993 to contest the Italian GT. My chassis plate is from TWR. Chassis numbers 001 and 002 participated in the series with race numbers 11 (the Martini car) and 12 (white with blue stripes). Chassis number 003 was a backup car that did not race. These did not have carbon fiber bodies like the "s" and "c " cars, but were lightened versions of the aluminum street car. They have full race uprights and suspensions, bigger brakes, different turbochargers, and were capable of up to 700 RWHP in original form. Rather than rewriting the history of the 12 non-standard cars I'll refer you to a post I wrote on these cars at :forums.jag-lovers.com/t/xj220-on-jay-lenos-garage/385014/6
